Platform Beer Co.

We spend a lot of time in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, mainly on West 25th Street. With favorites like The Black Pig, Nano Brew, Flying Fig, and plenty of other dining options, it's no wonder that we like it there. But, it's great to see this neighborhood expanding beyond West 25th. Pockets like Hingetown, and an expanding Lorain Avenue section are popping up, and it's very exciting to see.

On the corner of Lorain and West 41st, Platform Beer Co. has opened.
With industrial metal and exposed brick against the sleek black and gray tones, it's funky and welcoming. A long bar, high top tables, and an outdoor patio all offer seating options.

They have house craft beers on draft, but you'll also find a constant rotation of seasonal beers being brewed by the Platform Brewers Group incubator program. This program gives home-brewers a chance to take it a step further. Read more about the program on their website.
While I was there, I tried the Platform- The Juice with Blackberry, a fruit beer.
Quite drinkable, if not memorable, and it would be popular for those that like beers like Shandy or Fat Head's Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale.

They have a rotating schedule of food vendors that are serving up a variety of items each night (like the famous Momocho). You can also check out the Brewhouse Brunch on Saturdays.

Other recent additions to this area are Jack Flaps and the bar-eatery Plum Cafe that will open in early winter. If this small pocket can keep growing, we may just have another West 25th strip on our hands.

I poked my head inside this past Saturday and can't wait to go back to try it. I hope you're right and that area keeps expanding - it's heading in the right direction for sure!
